Second Annual Culpeper Remembers Memorial Day Concert 2022

PCB PLAYS AT CULPEPER REMEMBERS 2022

On May 30, 2022, Windmore’s Piedmont Community Band performed a free concert at the American Legend Post 330 in Culpeper. About 30 people set up their chairs and blankets and listened to the music and the poetry.

Taps was played exactly at 3 P.M. because that is the time that “Taps Across America” would be played by buglers across the nation to honor service members who have died in service to the United States of America.

The Boy Scouts were the color guard presenting the flag for the Pledge of Allegiance and the singing of “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

Our Master of Ceremony for this event was Bruce Van Ness from the writers’ group. In addition, seven poems were written by Pen-to-Paper writers. A total of nine poems were read by Pen-to-Paper writers and one member of StageWorks.

The band played “The Star-Spangled Banner,” a medley of the music from all the military organizations and other emotional musical pieces.

Windmore plans to continue to have an annual Culpeper remembers event at the American Legion.
